about this recording:
Johann Schenck's virtuoso and skillful viola da gamba playing was highly thought of and admired by his contemporaries. For the continuo of these "artistic exercises," this recording employs a dulcimer by the famous Amsterdam violin maker Henrik Jakobs, with whom Johann Schenck was probably personally acquainted.
