Twelve Variations on the theme by G. F. Handel (Judas Maccabaeus ) is recorded by Rebecca Rust to commemorate the retirement of Professor Yukihiro Nakamura from Kyoto University on March 31, 2007. This piece is based on the Song of Victory, “See the Conquering Hero Comes" from the oratorio Judas Maccabaeus, composed by Handel. Beethoven composed Twelve Variations for Cello based on this song that is one of Professor Nakamura's favorites.
Professor Nakamura is an expert of Computer Architecture and VLSI Design Technology, and also an avid Beethoven enthusiast and an admirer of Friedrich Edelmann and Rebecca Rust. They met in California firstly in 1987, and have been close friends ever since.
