“Tiranno Amore”: Under this title Sabine Lutzenberger (for many years the singer of the “Studio for Early Music–Augsburg”) and her ensemble “ars poetica” offer five secular cantatas by Alessandro Scarlatti, presented with passion and verve, but also not neglecting to pay fitting tribute to Orfeo’s melancholy. Several of these cantatas, some of them as yet unpublished, are issued here for the first time on CD – in keeping with the CAVALLI-RECORDS tradition.
